It is important for the Cat Scout to maintain good hygiene at all times. This means he bathes himself regularly (including Spots 13 and 14), and takes proper care of his teeth and gums. This ensures that when he is on a campout he will be able to catch stuff for dinner and make it go dead. And, it doesn’t hurt his chances with those gerlcat Scouts, either!
Cat Scouts with good teeth are confident Scouts, ready to catch the world by the tail and swing it around a couple of times. Fellows who don’t maintain good dental hygiene are likely to hang out in the back of the pack, hesitant to take part in all the swell activities that Scouting has to offer.
The Dentristy Merit Badge is almost as difficult to win as the Swimming Merit Badge, which is why we award 25 Karma points for this badge.
So, to earn your dentistry merit badge, you must post ALL of the following in the Dentristy Merit Badge Group:
- A photo demonstrating your mastery of good dental hygiene.
- A description of what causes dental decay and gum disease.
- A description of what steps you take to ensure that your teeth and gums are always in top shape.
